Festival of Trees Holiday Market at Brownsville Art Center

The annual event is Saturday, December 3, 2022

Brownsville, OR, November 18, 2022. The annual Brownsville Art Association Art Market coincides with the Brownsville Women’s Study Club’s Festival of Trees fundraising event for the Brownsville Volunteer Fire Department and Sharing Hands Christmas Greeters program. The Brownsville Art Center will be open Saturday, December 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 255 Main St. in downtown Brownsville.

With over thirty artists, both floors of the Art Market will be filled with ornaments, cards, paintings, personal care items, clothing, jewelry, pottery, decor, leather goods, preserves, and more available for purchase by credit card or cash.

Twenty-five theme-decorated Christmas trees will be up in downtown Brownsville businesses. The Brownsville Art Association hosts one of the Christmas trees. The Association’s tree will be trimmed with miniature original art ornaments. Bidding begins December 2 and ends at 4 p.m. December 3. Tree pickup and payment are from 4 to 5 p.m. the same day by cash or check.

In November, three new artists joined us: Mishelle Tourtillott, Rosalee Beals Huntley, and June Forsyth. Primarily a watercolorist, Tourtillott is from nearby Halsey. Her subject matter ranges from still-life subjects, birds, boats, flowers, wildlife, and aquatic life. Mishelle states, “Nature is my inspiration in everything I paint. I always look around me and see the beauty of a sunrise and hear the song of a bird. Many people have lost the joys of the day-to-day natural environment around us with our busy schedules and day-to-day stuff that we tend to filter out nature around us. I try to bring it back into focus with my art.” Paintings in the gallery of Rosalee Beals Huntley’s paintings feature Plein air subjects in deeply textured richly colored oils. June Forsyth paints pet and people portraits, landscapes, and flowers with acrylics. Come by Thursday through Saturday during our regular winter hours, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to view them in person.
