Brownsville Art Center Event

Brownsville Art Center Event

Winter is still hanging around for a while, but the Brownsville Art Center is looking toward spring with its many classes and events. We hope you join us for some fun.

Our annual 8 X 8 show is up and ready for viewing. This is one of the shows the Art Center has that is open to all our community members. Anyone can enter the show. And it is a great time to see what your fellow neighbors are creating. The show runs until the end of March.

We are continuing our classes, which are open to everyone. Right now, Alice Tetamore is teaching a beginning watercolor class on Saturdays. As usual, Alice’s classes fill up right away. She will have another class starting in March that builds on the beginning class.

Kassy Keppol will have a two-session class in March using pastels to create beautiful birds. She will also have a three-session class on how to use an Inkle Loom to weave belts in April.

Connie Swindoll will be teaching a class on Wool Felting Easter Rabbits in April and a class Felting Bowls and Vessels in July.

Kristen Norris will be doing two classes this spring in May, Spring Sip and Paint and Wreaths in Bloom.

Information about each class, dates, cost of the class, and how to register can be found on the Brownsville Art Association website: http//brownsvilleart.org or at the Art Center located at 225 N Main St, Brownsville. You now have the option to register online, in person, or by mail.

We are always looking for class instructors. If you have an interest you would like to share with others, please contact Lori Garcy at baaartcenter@centurylink.net. We are open to all ideas, including art, crafts, music, photography, use of technology, writing, and the list of topics goes on.

The Art Center is open Wednesday – 1:00 to 4:00 pm, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday – 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
